Meet your Barnyard Buddies.

We bought our first pet Nigerian Dwarf (ND50) goats, Cheese and Whiskers, in 2021.

While we had a hunch we’d enjoy having goats as pets, we were very surprised to learn how great they are! Goats can be playful, inquisitive and very amusing. It’s easy to spend more time than you intend watching them frolic around the paddock or giving them scratches on the head!

Confident that we would enjoy breeding goats, we began our search for a full pedigree ND buck to join our herd in 2022. It didn't take long before we found Solomon. He left his home in Gin Gin, Queensland and traveled to North Queensland with Sangria (ND75 doe) and their three newborn bucklings Sand, Gravel and Salt (ND87.5).

Nothing beats a family road trip!

Cheese, Whiskers, Sangria and Solomon form our breeding herd. From Solomon’s coupling with these three does, we are able to breed Nigerian Dwarf Goats of 75% and 87.5%. This means that we will have does and wethers available from time to time, and occasionally high-percentage bucks that show exceptional qualities that make them ideal for breeding. At Bluewater Barnyard, our goal is to breed our own full pedigree (100%) Nigerian Dwarf Goat herd while promoting the highest standards of animal breeding, health and welfare.
